One of the party supporters said the national leadership of the party had ceded the senatorial ticket to Ogunbiyi who came second in the governorship primary election of the party.

He said Ogunbiyi was persuaded to take the State ticket and support the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

He said party members in the Osun West were surprised that Oyewumi still obtained the nomination form.
