Governor Kashim Shettima on Monday applauded the four Borno governorship aspirants of APC for conceding defeat in the just-concluded primary election in the state.
Shettima spoke shortly after Babagana Zulum was declared Candidate for the 2019 elections after he polled a total 4,432 votes to beating his closest rival Idris Durkwa who got 114 votes.
” I cannot thank you all for your support; especially the contestants for the spirit of sportsmanship, they accepted the results and congratulate the winner. I urged you to sustain the tempo and joint hands with the Prof. Babagana Zulum to work for the success our great party in 2019 general election,” Shettima said.
The other aspirants include Idris Durkwa who pulled 114 votes, Kashim Imam got 20, Alhaji Gambo Lawan got 2, The State Minister for state Works, Power and Housing, Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri, Nigeria Ambassador to China Amb. Ahmed Jidda and Maigira Atom got 1 vote each.
While Umar Alkali Nasco, Mohammed Kumalia and Abba Jato got no votes.
