Clash at Katsina APC secretariat during screening of delegates, many feared injured

Fights have erupted  at APC secretariat in Katsina as hired thugs attacked some screened delegated tearing apart their accredited tags.

A correspondent at the scene of the incident saw some of the thugs brandishing arms and sticks just others were running for safety when they saw a police team arriving the scene.

The police patrol team which had in attendance the state commissioner of police Wakili Mohammed however calmed the situation.

Confirming the incidence, the spokesman of the police command DSP Gambo Isah said already arrests have been made and suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation was concluded.

Daily Trust reports that there was palpable fears of crisis in the state following disagreement on the mode of primaries adopted by the party.

Two of the aspirants, Abubakar Samaila Isah and Garba Dankani have insisted on direct primaries as against indirect mode which the party has adopted and ratified.‎
