Uncertainty has beclouded the governorship primaries of the All Progressive Congress (APC) slated for today in Ogun State.
It comes after a report said the primaries has been postponed by the national leadership of the ruling party.
Insiders told Daily Ttust the National Working Committee of APC took the decision to forestall hitches envisaged in the primaries.
But the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Wole Elegbede couldn’t confirm the postponement on a phone call early Sunday.
“I cannot confirm that yet. We’re still trying to get across to the National secretariat of the party. What we have read was that primaries of Lagos and Imo states have been postponed. So, if there will be anything like that here in Ogun, it has to be through the national secretariat,” Elegbede said.
Asked whether the party at the State will continue with the primaries, he said “well, that maybe the implication.”
Six governorship aspirants including Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s choice candidate, Adekunle Akinlade, are expected to participate in the direct primaries.
