The All Progressives Congress (APC) members who turned out in their wards in Kogi state on Friday simply affirmed President Muhammadu Buhari as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2019 general election.
At some of the wards visited in Lokoja, the state capital, our correspondent observed that there were no voting and no register of party members displayed.
At Ward D in Lokoja, a handful of party faithfuls led by their Ward Chairman, Barrister Yahaya Danlami, affirmed President Buhari as their candidate.
Speaking after the exercise, Barrister Yahaya described the primary as successful, peaceful and credible.
He appealed to APC supporters to remain steadfast and supportive of the present administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Also speaking, Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello on Grassroot Mobilization, Hon Sulaiman Baba’ango, appealed to Nigerians to support Buhari’s second term bid to enable him consolidate on “the good work he has started.”
The exercise was witnessed by the APC Chairman in Lokoja Local Government, Maikudi Bature, party executives and all the five political appointees from the area.
