Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate, Captain Bala Jibrin and Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu Lame have been cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) national headquarters to contest for the party’s governorship ticket in the state.
The four were among the governorship aspirants cleared by the party for the forthcoming primaries taking place tomorrow (Saturday).
The incumbent Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abubakar, will slug it out with the other three for the ticket.
Pate, Lame, and Jibrin and their supporters have vowed to defeat Governor Abubakar in the primaries.
The three aspirants had earlier disclosed that, they will step down for one of them who will then challenge Governor Abubakar for the ticket.
An earlier decision taken by the Bauchi State APC Central Working Committee (CWC) to conduct indirect primaries for the governorship ticket was rejected by the three other aspirants.
The decision was later overturned by the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and directed that Bauchi and some other states should conduct direct primaries.
