Steel firm appoints non-executive director

Kogi Iron Limited has appointed Michael Arnett as a non-executive director in line with the company’s strategy of advancing its Agbaja project in Nigeria.

Arnett has over 25 years experience as a lawyer, corporate adviser and director of professional service firms and publicly-listed companies.

A statement by the company said the appointment of Arnett, who is also the chairman at NRW Holdings, would strengthen the company.

The company’s chairman, Ian Burson, said: “The appointment of Michael adds to the diversity and strength of the Kogi board and we are delighted to have someone of his calibre joining the board.”

Arnett is a former consultant to the board of directors of the natural resources business unit of the law firm Norton Rose Fulbright.

He is also a member and partner of the firm.

Arnett’s current directorship of listed companies include chairman for NRW Holdings Limited (NWH), non-executive roles for Archipelago Metals Limited and Queensland Energy Resources Limited.
