Why I attended Atiku’s Jos rally – APC Chieftain, Kwande

Former Nigerian Ambassador to Switzerland and one of the founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Yahaya Kwande said that he attended a rally organized for Atiku Abubakar in order to affirm his loyalty to the ex-Vice president.

Atiku who is one of the presidential aspirants under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was in Jos on Tuesday to lobby national delegates from Plateau state ahead of PDP’s presidential primary.
Prior to Atiku’s visit, there were debates as to whether Kwande would attend Atiku’s Jos rally and meeting with PDP’s delegates of the state. The presence of Kwande who is an APC Chieftain and member Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party  caused excitement and stir during the rally.
In his remarks at the rally, Yahaya Kwande said he knows a lot of people would be surprised to see him at the PDP’s Secretariat.
He said, “I know you will be surprised to see me in the state’s PDP Secretariat. I have never entered this secretariat but today I am in your midst. I have never stood where I am standing now. There is a reason for me being here.”
He further said that, “If today you I say I am not together with Atiku, you are already a mad man. I am fully with Atiku and my loyalty to Atiku is very certain. There are many people waiting for this day and the day has come. They were speculating that they will see whether I will welcome him.”
He added that he has never found himself in this kind of politics.”
He said Atiku is the best person to lead the country.
