Nasarawa state Deputy Governor Silas Ali Agara has promised monthly allowance to All Progressive Congress (APC) State, Local Government and Ward officials in the state if he wins the state party primaries and 2019 governorship election.
Agara who made the pledge on Monday at a meeting with party delegates and supporters in Nasarawa-Eggon local government area of the state, said the pledge was taken after carefully thought on the plight of party officials in the state needs to improve so as to get the best out of them in achieving party goals.
Agara explained that once elected as governor, the allowances would be funded from his personal income and other remunerations and not from government coffers so as to avoid any controversy that the effort may generate.
The deputy governor is vying with ten other aspirants for party governorship primaries, assured the party officials of fulfilling the pledge adding that the effort would also make them self sustainable financially and empower them to engage in meaningful ventures that will improve their welfare.
On the forthcoming APC governorship primaries, Agara urged party delegates to be disciplined, take wise decisions devoid of sentiments and financial inducement by the moneybag politicians already on the hunt for them to induce them with money to get their votes.
Responding, APC Chairman in Nasarawa Eggon LGA, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim, thanked the deputy governor for his political sagacity desire to improve the welfare of APC officials in the state and assured him that delegates in the local government have been well enlightened not to fall prey to aspirants who offer monetary inducement but offer their support to aspirants who will win the general election and change the state for good.
