16 perish in Jigawa flood

16 people were reportedly killed in three local government areas of Jigawa State following the overflowing of River Hadejia.

The Executive Secretary of Jigawa State Emmergency Management Agency, Yusuf Sani Babura, made this known to Daily Trust in Dutse on Friday.

He said the deaths occurred in Ringim, Miga and Jahun Local Government Areas.

“Three died after a canoe capsized while four lost their lives in building collapse in Ringim LGA, in Miga LGA.

“Three drowned whereas two others died in building collapse. In Jahun, four died while crossing the flooded area.”
