As Muslims mark the new Islamic calendar, the Sarki of Yoruba Community in Northern States and Abuja, Ambassador Mohammed Arigbabuwo, has decried the spate of insecurity in the country as he called on Nigerians to pray for the safety of security personnel in the country.
The traditional title holder lamented that Nigeria seems to be in war considering the level of insecurity across the country, a situation he said needed to be tackled with all vigor.
“We have a situation whereby many security men are being killed with impunity while performing their lawful duties,” he lamented.
He advised the security personnel not to relent in their efforts towards making the country a safe place for all.
While he expressed sadness over the killings, particularly in the North-East, he stressed the need for government to be proactive. “The current situation in the country requires the co-operation of all citizens to move the nation forward for the desired development to take place,” he said.
He therefore admonished Nigerians to continue to pray for the safety of security agencies at all times. He also called on all traditional rulers and stakeholders across the country to come together to pray for the nation.
