Ex-Kogi Assembly member dumps PDP

A former member representing Dekina/Biraidu Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Paul Gowon has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a yet to be named party.

Gowon, in his resignation letter addressed to his Iyale ward chairman, which he read to newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, cited injustice and undemocratic attitude of some key party leaders in his Dekina local government area as reason for resigning his membership of the PDP.

“I am forced to leave this party which I so much laboured for because of the undemocratic attitude of the party leader in Dekina local government area in the person of Capt Idris Wada and his co-travellers”, he said.

Gowon, who did not disclose his new party, however assured that his next political move would be made public soonest.

He lamented that the vibrancy and cohesiveness which the PDP witnessed in his area under the leadership of former Governor Ibrahim Idris was no longer there.
