As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Johnson & Johnson has trained 49 healthcare professionals across Africa for free at a seven-day management development programme for health managers and administrators held in Lagos.
The training, estimated to cost $5,000 per participant, was conducted in partnership with the Lagos Business School (LBS) and the Global Business School (GBS).
According to the senior manager, Sub-Saharan Africa of Johnson & Johnson, Rene Kiamba, 1,448 professionals from over 42 countries have been trained during the programme since it commenced in 2005.
The training which was held for the first time in Nigeria, attracted 50 percent of the participants from Nigeria, 30 percent from Ghana while the remaining 20 percent were from Sierra Leone and Cameroon, the LBS Director of Programmes, Dr Obinna Muogboh, said.
It targets doctors, pharmacist, non-governmental organizations, public servants and health administrators, among others.
According to the organisation, part of the curriculum at the training was management principles, social marketing, administration, how to effectively run an establishment, among others.
