Publisher of the defunct Summit Newspaper and Newspaper Columnist, Chief Ray Ugba Murphy, has picked Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest Cross River North Senatorial District on the All Progressive Party (APC) platform in Cross River State.
Murphy, who picked the forms at the weekend in Abuja at the APC National Secretariat, pledged to pursue bills aimed at improving the working conditions of journalists and teachers.
He said it was time the media practitioners took over the leadership of the country having contributed immensely to restore democracy.
The newspaper columnist said he was at the vintage position to make laws that would bring a remarkable change to his people and Nigeria at large.
According to him, the problem with the country is not necessarily poverty, but poverty of education which cause he attributed to poor salary of teachers.
He said the solution to the problem of poor education would be to pay all teachers all over the country federal salaries.
