A protest by youths from Ahoada community of Rivers State has shut down the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company’s station leading to a blackout in Bayelsa State.

The company’s communications manager, John Onyi, disclosed this yesterday, but did not speak about what led to the protest.

He said: “In view of the ugly incident, the entire Bayelsa State including Yenagoa, the state capital, has been thrown into darkness. Bayelsa state has only one source of power supply from Ahoada 132 kV lines.
