Ashiru: Declaring Kaduna assembly seats vacant unconstitutional

A governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Isa Mohammed Ashiru has faulted the declaration of two seats in the Kaduna State House of Assembly as vacant by the Speaker of the House, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Shagali.

Ashiru in statement by his media office signed by Murtala Abubakar, said the action was unconstitutional and a case of political victimization.

He said the defection of the members representing Kachia and Kudan constituencies, Hon. John Audu Kwaturu and Hon. Junaidu Yakubu, respectively, from the APC was in order considering the existence of strong factions in the party.
