Many motorists have complained of having problems with their vehicle engines because of adulterated fuel sold in filling stations in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
A civil servant, Mr. Jacob Musa, told Daily Trust that his car suddenly stopped while he was travelling to his village in Kurmi Local Government Area in the state.
He said his mechanic traced the problem to adulterated fuel in the tank of his vehicle.
Mr. Jacob explained that apart from being delayed for several hours on his trip, he also incurred additional expenses.
Another motorist, Malam Bala Yunusa, told our reporter that he bought 50 litres of petrol at N250 per litre but found out that it was adulterated.
Yunusa said his car stopped 40 kilometres away from Jalingo on his way to Yola and a mechanic traced the problem to adulterated fuel in the tank.
