Following the expiration of Dr (Mrs) Nike Akande’s tenure, the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has elected Mr. Babatunde Paul Ruwase as its president for the next two years.
In a statement, the Director General of the chamber, Muda Yusuf, said Ruwase emerged as president after a duly conducted election at the chamber’s 129th annual general meeting held at its Commerce House, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Ruwase, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), is an astute boardroom guru.
He has served the chamber previously in various capacities as deputy president, vice president, chairman of LCCI trade promotion board and chairman of the financial and general purposes committee among others.
Yusuf added that Ruwase had brought his extensive knowledge and experience to bear and has provided quality perspectives to deliberations at the chamber.
According to him, the investiture of Ruwase as president of the LCCI was in recognition of his contributions and commitment to the ideals of the chamber movement, public policy advocacy and protection of the interests of the Nigerian business community.
