Operation Lafiya Dole: Troops to get outstanding allowances

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, said troops on Operation Lafiya Dole would soon receive their two months outstanding operational allowances.

Army spokesman Brigadier General Sani Usman disclosed this in a statement yesterday.

He said this is coming after the release of funds for the payments of operational allowances and logistics for the Third Quarter 2017 from the Ministry of Defence.

Usman said this is contained in a letter sent to various formations and corps Commanders, as well as Commanders of the various training institutions of the Nigerian Army on Sunday 5th November 2017.

Usman said Buratai in the letter showered encomiums on the troops for the unflinching loyalty, perseverance, courage and dedication to duty.

He added that Buratai also paid glowing tribute to those troops stationed outside the shores of the country.
