Prominent Kaduna judge, Justice Bashir Usman Sukola is dead

A prominent Kaduna judge, Justice Bashir Usman Sukola is dead.

He is famous for remanding Vanguard correspondent Luka Binniyat in prison on allegations of false publication against Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai and the state government.

Sukola died around 2am on Wednesday at the Ahmadu Bello Teaching hospital Shika Zaria in Kaduna state after a brief illness.

Aged 57 years, Justice Bashir Sukola is originally from Borno state but was born and breed in Kaduna.

Sukola who until his death was a judge at the Kaduna state High Court of Justice is survived by a wife and six children.
