President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Umar Hassan as the substantive Provost of the Federal College of Education (FCE) Okene, Kogi State.
A statement issued yesterday by the Acting Deputy Director, Directorate of Information of the College, Jibril Abdulrahman, said Umar Hassan was until his new appointment a chief lecturer with the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto.
Born on 20th April, 1961 in Gusau, Dr. Umar Hassan had his early education
at S.M.I Primary School, Gusau from 1967 1973. He obtained his Bachelors of Education degree in Physical and Health Education in 1984 from Ahmadu Bello University and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Ibadan in 1990. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Education from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Dr Umar Hassan hails from Badoko in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.
