Boko Haram militants yesterday abducted three young women from Magar village in Madagali area of Adamawa State.

Magar is a remote village about 25 kilometers from Gulak town, the headquarters of Madagali Local Council. The area had fallen under the control of Boko Haram before its liberation by the military in 2015. Reports from the area  indicated that a small number of armed men attacked the village in the afternoon and took away the young women.

The Madagali Local Government chairman, Yusuf Muhammad, told our reporter that the women were seized while working on their farms on the outskirts of Magar. He disclosed that soldiers and local hunters are tracking down the abductors, to rescue the women.

Spokesman of the 28 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Major Badare Akintoye, could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
