A former Director-General of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mr. Ezekiel Chiejina, is set to launch his new book that chronicles pension reform initiatives in Nigeria.

A statement signed by Chiejina revealed that the book is a definitive treatise on the evolution of pension schemes in Nigeria, the various pension reforms and their benefits and shortfalls as well as the roles and responsibilities of the various key stakeholders in the pension matrix.

The expert in pensions and life insurance, stated in the statement that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who doubles as the keynote speaker at the launch slated for next week in Lagos, will unveil the book with the title:  ‘Pensions in Nigeria’.

The book, a compendium of contemporary information on pension matters, discussed the characteristics, intricacies, and implications of the various pension reforms and payment schemes in Nigeria.

Other expected dignitaries are Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, former Director General of National Pension Commission and Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Ahmad and Professor Pat Utomi.

In the Preface to the book, the author said the book was inspired by his resolve to document for posterity his three and a half decades’ engagement in pension and life insurance in Nigeria as manager of pension schemes for private and public sector companies, lecturer and trainer of pension desk officers and chief executive of insurance companies.
