LGs get N800m women development centres

Model women development centres have been constructed in all the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State at the cost of N800 million, the Commissioner of Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Kulu Sifawa, has said.

She spoke yesterday at the 17th National Council on Women and Social Development held in Sokoto, where she also revealed that her ministry had created a draft on the domesticated gender policy for the state and that it was ready for submission to the state governor for approval.

“As we all know, if a woman is strategic in creation, she must be resourceful when it comes to self-actualization, self-reliance and self-sufficiency,” she stated.
