NDE trains 100 women in cosmetology

The Kaduna state chapter of National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced two weeks apprenticeship training on cosmetology for the second batch consisting of 100 women selected from the 23 local government areas of the state.

The directorate had earlier trained 1,400 women on cosmetology as part of efforts to make the teeming unemployed Nigerians self reliant.

In addition to the 100 women, 43 men are also beginning three months technical training in various skills including GSM repair, carpentry, tailoring, barbing and satellite installation among others.

Speaking at the commencement of the skills acquisition programme, the state coordinator of NDE, Sani Wada said women are the most vulnerable group. “That explains our focus on women,” he said, noting that the only way out of unemployment is skills acquisition.
