The Sukuk bond to Islamize Naija

From the reaction of Naija Christian Association to the launch of the Sukuk bond, it is obvious that the noisemakers live in the country but are not in tune with happenings there. Depending on whom you ask, the Islamization agenda was completed long ago. Some say it began when Sai Baba went to Redemption Camp to convert a general overseer and steal his pastor as deputy; others swear it was concluded when Sai Baba in the presence of hundreds of people at the Evil Square, placed his hands on the Quran and swore to run the country according to the constitution and extant laws with the help of God. Lately, proponents have argued that the Islamization agenda was concluded when rabid Ayo Fayose disguised in a curious turban mimicked prayers at the Ado Ekiti Eid praying ground.

From all indications, Naija has been Islamized and it seems to love it because nature abhors vacuum. It’s been long since Christian missionaries arrived our shores after their merchants had mopped up our most agile populace with slave trade. The missionaries built dispensaries, schools, roads and rail before they were asked to leave town. While they were here, they braved the mosquitoes and lived among the people. Their schools were free, so were their hospitals. The churches preached the gospel and expanded.

That was then. Some of those mission schools have been taken over and returned so many times that it is difficult to keep track of who now ruins them – the missionaries, the government or the locals? With time, as the local ‘evangelists’ took over, they abandoned their father’s huts for the ‘elevated’ habitations of the missionaries before learning how to sustain and/or improve on them. Soon, they discovered the prosperity gospel which saw Jesus, the poor carpenter’s son who could not afford an ass on which to ride to his death and hardly accepted the title of Rabbi as giver of titles such as GO, Bishop, Archbishop, Primate, Venerable etc.

Our emergent church leaders discovered that Jesus’ Rabbi silk robe was a sign of opulence compared to the kijipa or calico of his disciples and men of his days. With such revelation came the romance with Gucci, Prada and others, which distinguished them from their starving congregation. In the place of donkeys, they preferred Lamborghini, Ducati and jets in that order.

While missionaries established schools to educate the unwashed masses – their title-crazy gods-of-men replacements saw education as a class tool. They abandoned the collapsed schools that raised them and discovered a need for replacement. Where there is need, there’s money to be made, so they establish more schools -not for their masses, but for the advancement of their selfish empire. They raised voluntary donations to build crèches and abundantly charged members to send their children there. They founded primary schools for the same purpose and today have several universities to their names that two-thirds of their members; the same ones conned into giving their widow’s mite to establish, could not send their children. They’ll recommend prayers for the terminally ill while they enjoy access to the best doctors, hospitals and facilities. This is how Christianity Islamized Naija.

When money is raised in a mosque for any purpose, it tends to go directly to that cause. When Islam builds a school, it builds it for the propagation of Islam yes – but makes it accessible to all. When Islam collects money to build a mosque, most of the cash goes into doing just that.

So, what is Sukuk? In the days of Google, nothing is hidden. It did not originate from Naija. It is not a prosperity bond. Rather, it abhors usury and Naija officials, including Islamized Christians like Kemi Adeosun swear it would finance dilapidated social infrastructure such as roads. Giving Islam’s track record, it is not unlikely that those roads would be reserved for Muslims only. This is why even non-Muslims are hoodwinked into investing in it. They know it would not finance drugs or prostitution, or extend the class system and that it would be managed with the fear of Allah, plus it’s good on their conscience. Muslims seem to know that the best evangelism is the one that impacts the Ummah here on earth irrespective of their social status. This is why it is necessary to fear the Sukuk bond to Islamize Naija.

As we celebrate another national anniversary – this type of Islamization is better than the ideology of Boko Haram that gives no room for a contrary view of its doctrine. As our country clocks 57, our prayer is that it would, through this kind of Sukuk bond  soon reflect its age in growth and maturity.

If pastorpreneurs and their associations are jealous – nothing stops them from instituting a Yahweh bond. Ali Ahmad the Chibok boys learning to walk again after surgery in Dubai would thank them for it. He cannot wait to be a Boys Brigade. It’s too late for Adesina Adesanya, Muna Obiekwe and James Uche all of who died for lack of help to tackle kidney disease. It is not too late to regain grounds from Islam’s agenda for Naija – just go back to your first gospel because nature abhors vacuum.
