Women journalists pull resources to support widows

A group of senior female journalists who are individually resident in different states of the Nigeria are presently pulling their resources to empower at least, one widow in their states.

Their efforts are being supported by nongovernmental organizations such as Rahab and Eagle Security Ltd and Women Development Initiative (WODI) including one Mrs Olutosin Oladosu Adebowale who donated the first money for the empowerment of the first beneficiary, Mrs Martina Ejah in Boki Local Government area of Cross River State.

Operating under the name Grassroots Women Journalists, they plan to also convene at one state on 23 June 2018 to mark the International Widows Day where all the widows they have listed to empower, particularly with the sale of certain food items will equally converge for a symposium.

Mrs Veronica Ogbole resident in Nasarawa state and Florence Kekong in Cross River State said they will buy dawadawa, crayfish, cassava etc in large quantities and donate to the identified widows to enable them sell for their own profits.
