The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has said that the governors of All Progressive Congress, APC, has (have) backed the party’s National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun over the rift with Chieftain Asiwaju Tinubu.
Bello disclosed this to state house correspondents after their meeting with president Muhammadu Buhari when he met them at Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja late Thursday night.
Bello, while addressing State House reporters after the two-hour closed-door meeting, said the APC governors have confidence in Oyegun on the allegation by the national leader of the APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, that the party’s national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, was sabotaging the ongoing reconciliation efforts.
“The governors and majority of APC members, have confidence in our national chairman, Chief John Oyegun. We also believe in the president by appointing Bola Tinubu, our leader, to reconcile some aggrieved members of our party".
However, one-size-fits-all will not work and all the states where some erring members need to be disciplined," he said.
