Ekiti guber: MPN female aspirant cautions delegates against moneybag politicians

A female governorship aspirant on the platform of Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN) in Ekiti state, Hon. Bola Adeyina, has urged party delegates and residents of the state to shun moneybag politics.

Adeyina stated this while meeting with women supporters in Ado Ekiti on Thursday.

She said, “Money from politicians to buy votes has taken the state nowhere. What we need are leaders that are genuinely committed to the development of the state and betterment of the people’s lives".

She said the party was out to correct the wrongs occasioned by poor leadership in the state and put it on sound footing. She added that her aspiration to govern the state was borne out the need to get the state out of the woods and set the people free from the economic and development bondage that successive governments had put them.

Adeyina said: “MPN is the platform to rescue Ekiti State. People are disappointed with what those who were there and those who are in power now have done. That is why somebody like me is offering myself to serve and to provide the missing link.

“We need genuine change which MPN represents. I will bring my experience as a business manager, nurse and caregiver trainer to bear in governing our dear state. Our people deserve care in terms of getting employment opportunities, deserving functional education, getting necessary infrastructure, healthcare access and security. These and lot more are what we promise to offer.

“Moreover, this is time to allow women to participate effectively in governance. I will prioritize gender issues. I will fight for women. I will give utmost consideration to the welfare of the aged and senior citizens,” she said.

The chairman of MPN, Chief Dare Adekolu, who corroborated Adeyina on the party’s rescue mission, expressed confidence that the party has intelligent, experienced, competent and capable aspirants among whom the flagbearer would emerge on Saturday.

Adekolu said the party had eyes on the best in view of the huge assignment of reconstructing the state that the incoming MPN governor would be saddled with.

The MPN boss said the party would prioritise agriculture using mechanized farming, education, infrastructures development, health, youth and women development, among others to develop the state
