A new batch of 165 Nigerian returnees from Libya have arrived the country with the assistance of International Organization for Migrations (IOM).
The aircraft operated by Al Buraq airline with registration number 5A-DMG, arrived the cargo wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) at about 9:45 p.m. on Thursday with the returnees.
The NEMA Zonal Coordinator, Yakubu Suleiman received the returnees on behalf of the Federal Government from IOM Head of Mission in Nigeria, Ms Enira Krdzalic who came down to Lagos from Abuja.
Ms Krdzalic disclosed that IOM with the assistance from EU have repatriated 7,746 back to Nigeria and the organization is on the verge of reaching the 8,000 mark.
The NEMA Zonal Coordinator said the figure included 68 female adults, six female children and one female infant as well as 89 male adults and one male infant.
