Oliseh, as promised, yesterday, launched a periodic ‘Super Eagles update’ feature on his website, sundayoliseh.tv where he hopes to post videos intimating fans and well-wishers progress achieved on the job as he aims to rebuild the national team from the scratch.
“We have travelled to many countries where we identified potential players we hope to assemble for Eagles, we have watched them play and as we prepare to face Tanzania next month, invited players would be expected to resume training by mid-august” the former Juventus midfielder said.
The coach further clarified his stance regarding inviting only footballers that ply their trade in some major first divisions, saying the rule wouldn’t apply for players that have been tested before now.
Meanwhile, Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, is expected to lead several established Super Eagles stars to Tanzania for the AFCON qualification clash in Dares Salam.
The manager is expected to release his list of invited players for the game against Tanzania in the coming days with the foreign-based professionals expected to assemble in Abuja before making the trip to the East African country.
Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is ruled out of the encounter after his dismissal against Chad last month, but there is likely to be a return for Enyeama, Mikel Obi and Victor Moses who immensely impressed during Chelsea’s pre-season games.
Enyeama, whose differences with the Nigeria Football Federation over his comments after the game against Chad in Kaduna have been sorted out, has been tipped as a key player in Oliseh’s plans for the team.
