House of Representatives has set up a committee to mediate in clashes between border communities of Anambra and Kogi states over claims of oil wells ownership.
The two neighbouring communities have been locked in crisis for the past three days, which was instigated by territorial claims on oil- rich area.
Rep Peter Obiano of Anambra and his Kogi counterpart, Emmanuel Egwu, who sponsored the motion, said urgent action to halt the ongoing clashes becomes necessary at this time.
The House approved that the Inspector-General of police, the Chief of Army Staff as well as the Chief of Naval Staff have to rise to the occasion by sending peace-keeping troops to end the ongoing clashes.
