The Benue State government has denied speculations that it plans to revoke road contracts awarded by the past administration.
The state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Emmanuel Manger said in Makurdi yesterday that the current administration would not terminate or abandon contracts of past governments.
He said instead, his findings during a recent tour of contracts in the state have been computed for further action.
He noted that some of the road contracts awarded by the immediate past administration have been completed and handed over.
“Governor Samuel Ortom has no intention to terminate any contract or abandon contracts of past administration. We are taking action on the various stages of work so far done on the roads. It is after those ones are completed that we (this administration) will figure out new projects because government is continuous,” he said.
