Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, on Tuesday swore-in Prof. Bashir Garba as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Imam Imam as Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs.
Garba is a former Rector of Sokoto State Polytechnic, while Imam was Tambuwal’s spokesman when he was Speaker, House of Representatives.
Speaking shortly after he administered the oath of Office on the new appointees, the governor said that their appointments were based on merit.
“The new SSG is a seasoned administrator with decades wealth of experience in public service.
“Imam Imam is a veteran Journalist who knows his onions and he had diligently held same position when I was Speaker of the House of Representatives,” he added.
He urged the new appointees to deploy their wealth of experience to bring about good governance and the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
While stressing the need for them to listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the people, the governor urged them to be transparent and accountable in all their dealings. (NAN)
