The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Funmilayo Atilade, has sworn in 107 new judges to take over from ageing ones at the customary courts.
The new judges are to work in 52 local governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) across the state.
According to Atilade, the new appointees, comprising 19 presidents and 88 members, were appointed to replace ageing judges.
“Customary courts have jurisdiction to administer justice on road traffic issues, environmental issues and some other offenses. I admonish all of you to be diligent and passionate. You must be good listeners,
humble, above board and have the knowledge of the law of the land. In all, you must remember there is ultimate judge,” Justice Atilade said.
