It is clear to whoever cares to know that Nigerians are facing one of the hardest moments in their country’s history. It is clear to everyone that people are suffering, insecurity still a tough issue, economy is stagnant, poverty, maternal mortality, illiteracy, extremism, high rate of school dropouts, domestic violence and paucity of determination from our youths are on the rise. These are just some of the myriad of challenges that lie in our path to prosperity. I know our president means well for our country; I know Buhari can’t make it if we fail to have faith in him. So, for our country to compete with the communities of nations, patience is the best option.
Nigeria is in the throes of transition from an old to a new version of leadership and every country experiences similar hardship and adversity when it makes amend to its leadership. People in Russia once had to queue to collect food donations in the aftermath of Soviet Union collapse; people in Singapore lived in squalor and makeshift camps when they were about to change; India had to employ some workers to be picking the bodies of those fallen by hunger every morning due to poverty and starvation. But with patience and faith, they have finally emerged victorious.
My dear compatriots, we must not lose hope, it takes sweat, hardship and determination to be great, and we, as citizens, must support our president who spends sleepless nights to make our country great.
