Defending champion crashes out of Dala Hard court

Nigeria top ranked player and the Men singles defending champion at the on-going Dala Hard Court Tennis tournament, Enosoregbe Clifford, on Tuesday, crashed out of the competition.

Enosoregbe was kicked out by another former champion of the tourney, Shehu Lawal who won the game 6/4, 7/6(4).

The competition which gathered momentum on Tuesday also saw the victory of Adamu Sani against Ibrahim Idris in a two straight set of 6/1, 6/1.

 

Imeh Joseph defeated Chima Michael 6/1, 7/5,  Bikom Albert sent home Badamasi Ibrahim 6/0, 6/1, Atseye Henry  was the better player in the game against Igbinovia Monday as he won the tie 6/2, 6/1.

 

The toughest game in the first round was between Madueke Nonso  and Paul Christian which lasted for over two and half hours with Nonso advancing to the next stage by  beating Christian 6/2, 4/6, 7/5

 

In the Ladies Singles, Agugbom Christie defeated Onebamhoin Patience 6/4, 6/0, Mbadiwe Christie beat Quadri Aminat 1/6, 6/2, 6/1, Ebijimi Pauline sent packing  Akosile Afolarin 6/1, 6/3, Airhuriwunde Osare beat Ahura Lawreter 6/0, 6/0 and Samuel Blessing won in the game against  Ibrahim Omotayo 4/6, 7/6(5), 6/1. 

In the Men’s Doubles, the pair of Badmus/Ogunshakin beat Ikililu/Ibrahim 6/2, 6/4.

Just as the pair of Ekanem/Out beat Imeh/Mohammed 6/2, 6/2 to advance to the next round.
