Ogun varsity secures accreditation for Nursing

Chief Medical Director of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) Sagamu, Ogun State, Professor Alfred Jaiyesimi, at the weekend, said accreditation for the training of nurses in the institution has been secured.
Jaiyesimi spoke when members of the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Health visited the hospital.
He said though the hospital had been training health experts in different fields, adding four operating units in obstetrics and gynaecology department and securing accreditation for the training of nurses will boost the hospital’s performance.
The Medical Director said the hospital would continue to equip and provide facilities for treatment of diseases.
He added that the institution generated N186 million as revenue within eight months.
The Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Health, Akinpelu Aina, on his part, said the nation’s socio-economic challenges notwithstanding, healthcare services remain crucial to the society.
He challenged management of the hospital to complement government’s efforts in promoting efficiency in health service delivery at the grassroots.
