Lalong appoints acting HoS

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has approved the appointment of Mr. Izam Azi, as the acting Head of Civil Service.
Mr. Izam Azi takes over from Barrister Huldah Fwangchi, who was appointed to Head the Civil Service by Lalong in July.
A statement issued by the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Emmanuel Nanle, yesterday said Fwangchi has retired in line with extant public service law and civil service rule.
The statement noted that until his appointment, Azi was the Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, adding that “Mr. Izam Azi is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the new position.
 “The governor expresses profound appreciation to the former Head of Service for her years of meritorious service. The   government is particularly grateful to her for resolving the labour unrest inherited and reorganizing the civil service,” the statement added.
