Robbers kill 2 in Ondo School

Suspected robbers yesterday morning attacked Olofin Grammar School, Idanre in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State killing two night guards.
The robbers, it was gathered, had carted away the new sets of computers purchased by the state government for the school after killing the guards.
A source said though the school is about 150 meters to a nearby police station in the area, but there was no presence of policemen throughout the time the robbers operated.
The source said that would be the second time robbers would attack public secondary schools in the state and went away with sets of computers.
The remains of the deceased, whose names were yet to be revealed as at the time of this report, were said to have been deposited at the State Hospital mortuary, Idanre for autopsy.
Robbers had also stormed Aquinas College, Akure recently where computers were also carted away.
Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph confirmed the robbery and said the command had begun investigation. In his reaction, commissioner for education of the state, Mr Jide Adejuyigbe, said the government would ensure such incident does not happen in the state schools again.
“It is like armed robbers are laying siege on all our schools in Ondo state, this is a security challenge and we will definitely do something about it,” he said.
