Chairman of the Commission, Abdulmumuni Mohammed Kundak made the call at a two days workshop on ‘Gender Empowerment of Women Effective Political Participation in Future Local Government Election in Bauchi state’
The workshop was organised by the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) in Bauchi.
He said the aim of the workshop was to give women a say in the affairs of governance in the state, particularly now that the local government election draws near.
He said the womenfolk in the state have been left behind in political activities adding that there is need to integrate and inculcate political consciousness in women.
