This is the extraordinary moment a cab driver pops his boot open to reveal a suspected robber he’s caught – while being interviewed live on TV.
The vigilante taxi man, from Bolivia, then makes an on-air appeal for police to come and take his catch away.
He tells the interviewer, in his home town of Santa Cruz, that he bludgeoned the stunned-looking crook with a stick.
The "miscreant" had previously mugged the driver of his earning using a shard of glass as a weapon, he claims.
Turning to the reporter he says: “I’ve got the miscreant here.
"Do you want to see him?”
He then yanks open his boot, slaps his captive hard on the stomach and pulls his legs to one side.
Boasting of the moment he captured him in the early hours of last Wednesday morning, he adds: “I hit him with a stick, overpowered him, tied him up and brought him here.
"He’s here in my boot and I want the police to come here and take him away.
“He could have killed me the night he robbed me.”
Railing against the lack of security in his home city after closing the boot with his prisoner still inside, he adds: “Who can we ask to make sure justice is done? The mayor, the governor, the president?
“Politicians promise justice and security when they’re in politics but where’s the security here when they arrest people like this and let them out again eight hours later.
“I can’t work with this man in my boot and I’m not going to get any money out of him so I want the police to come here and do their job.”
Finishing the bizarre interview by specifying their location, the reporter says: “We’re appealing for the police to come here.
“The taxi driver fears he will escape if they don’t.”
