The Nigerian Army has confirmed the killing of four suspected cattle rustlers during an operation in Rugu forest in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The Commanding Officer of 35 Battalion, Lt. Col. Alhasan Girema, told newsmen in Katsina that five suspected rustlers were arrested during the operation.
Animals recovered include 500 cows, 231 sheep and 100 goats and donkeys.
Daily Trust gathered that the animals have already been handed over to the state committee on farmers, fulani clashes.
