Report strangers, Sultan tells district heads

He also directed all district heads to set up committees in their domains with a view to maintaining government projects and facilities.
In a communique signed by the Secretary, Sultanate Council, Attahiru Hussain, the meeting observed the negative attitude of people towards the national identity card and voter registration exercise.
It urged district heads to educate their subjects on the importance of policies. The communique also urged district heads to be more proactive in the collection of Zakkat in their respective areas and liaise with the relevant committee for distribution.
It added that the district heads should henceforth send their monthly reports to the council in the first week of every month as a committee would be appointed to study and analyse them and also identify defaulters.
