The fresh registration exercise would take place in 76 polling units between August 20th and 25th, he said.
Ibitoye who spoke with newsmen in Ilorin, explained that the exercise would be repeated afresh at the affected polling units where names of eligible voters did not appear on the voters’ register.
Fingers of the affected voters, he noted, were not properly captured and therefore their names are missing on the Permanent Voters’ Card(PVC).
The local governments where the exercise would take place are Asa, Ekiti, Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Irepodun, Isin, Moro and Offa.
Ibitoye disclosed that the continuous voters’ registration would also start from the same date and last for five days.
He said the commission had concluded all arrangements for both the continuous Voters’ Registration exercise and the issuance of the permanent Voters’ Card adding that ad-hoc staff particularly Youth Corps, members that would be engaged for the programmes have been well trained.
