The doctor who did not want his name mentioned advised the people to take sanitation very seriously, urging them to always clear the gutters and drainages in their environment so that malaria parasites will not find a place to hide.
He advocated the use of insecticide treated nets by families.
“On a daily basis, we record cases of malaria in children, women, men and pregnant women and this is because a lot of people don’t keep their environment clean. We must not wait for government to clean our environments because it is a very vital issue that every individual should take very seriously. Stagnant water should be rid of, dirty gutters and drainages should be constantly cleaned. A clean society is a healthy society.”
He advised the people to visit hospital early when they are sick and refrain from self medication.
He also urged government to help alleviate poverty, especially among the rural masses, to stave off malnutrition and cancer.
