The founder of Abuja Moms, Mrs Happiness Ani  said the group was formed to help less-privileged women in Abuja and empower them.

“I love it when women are empowered with skills. I was a blogger and talked about anything that concerned the women living in Abuja and then last year, this group, Abuja Moms  was formed,”she said.

“In February, we trained about 750 women we also did a programme, Abuja 1,000 mums where we fed about  2000 women and children at the IDP camp. Abuja Moms  made 1000 beautiful school bags for the less privileged,”she added

She highlighted one of the benefits of the group as an avenue to learn skills and build friendships.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Tina Sweet, said Abuja Moms is an avenue that helps women, especially the unemployed, to be  self-reliant.

“I had no idea how to make liquid soap but now I can proudly say I don’t buy soap  because I make it very well and I sell too. It took me less than an hour to learn how to make soap,” she said.
