Ekiti election: Voting ends in Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ado LGs



Voting has ended in most polling units in Irepodun/Ifelodun and Ado local governments of Ekiti State as at 3:00 pm.

At St Davids Primary School in Afao-Ekiti of Irepodun/Ifelodun Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Presiding officer, Bala Aliu said voting was concluded around 2:00 pm.

He said the turn out was fair and that the election was peaceful as all the voters conducted themselves well.

“We just rounded off the voting but we are waiting for the result of the other voting point to collate the final result.

” It’s been very peaceful. The people have been very cooperative. The turn out was relatively fair. We had 605 registered voters but we had 183 accredited voters for here and 166 there.

We are computing it. We will give out the result as soon as we finish collating. We had two voting points and we have to sum it up.

Also, voting has been concluded in Iworoko-Ekiti of the same local government. Our reporter who visited the town  said results were being collated.

Jubilation galore…

Supporters of former Governor of the State, Ayo Fayose were already celebrating their victory, though results have not been announced.

Our reporter said electorates were seen in all the polling units in the local government and Ado dancing, claiming that reports from 10 local government showed that their candidate was leading.

However, our reporter said at the time of filing this report, no result has been announced.
