The presiding judge, Justice Agatha Okeke, last Thursday, fixed today for judgment on two separate proceedings, namely on whether her court has jurisdiction to entertain the case and the main case brought by the senator.
Barely a week after Nasarawa State government released a whitepaper on the report of a panel which indicted some Eggon leaders as financiers of Ombatse, a group accused over last year’s killing of about 74 security operatives in Alakyo, Ewuga and House of Representatives member for Lafia- Obi, Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, filed separate petitions, asking the court to set aside the document.
Also, a state legislator, Nathaniel Agyomesa, who was also accused as a financier and abettor of the group, filed a separate petition challenging the constitutionality of the whitepaper and the panel’s report earlier in May.
