Varsity graduates held over robbery

The duo, Frank Likita of Ngenev community in Ukum Local Government Area and Charles Tume Shawon of North bank, Makurdi, admitted to have armed themselves with gun and other weapons to attack a woman at her shop in Gboko on Monday, last week.
It was gathered that the suspects collected the sum of N437, 000 from the victim, whose name was given as Dorcas Danjuma.
They also took her phones valued at N40, 000.
Daily Trust gathered that during the incident, an alarm was raised in the neighbourhood that attracted police operatives who chased after the robbers.  Shawon was arrested during the chase, while Likita was later apprehended in Ukum.
Fielding questions from newsmen yesterday at the police headquarters, Likita, an English graduate of the University of Calabar, regretted his action, saying it was his first time.
Shawon, on his part, claimed that they were under spiritual spell to commit the crime.  They both attributed their action to the handwork of the devil. The state Commissioner of Police, Hyacinth Dagala, said the suspects alongside many others apprehended for various crimes will soon be charged to court.
